Welcome pupils, parents and members of Newlands Primary School Community. This website aims to provide information about our school and community and is updated regularly by our pupils and staff to reflect our learning and share our achievements. We hope you enjoy your visit and find what you are looking for.
Newlands Primary School is located in Romannobridge and in partnership with Broughton Primary School is part of the Tweeddale Learning Community within The Peebles High School Catchment area. Our pupils are taught in four composite classes that vary from year to year depending on numbers within each stage, with most of our P1 children joining us each year from Newlands Kids also located within the building. The original school building dates from the late nineteenth century and has been modernised and extended to four classrooms. Sharing facilities with The Newlands Centre our children benefit from an extensive gym hall, a dining hall, a playing field and a school garden during school hours.
OUR VISION and VALUES
Our vision is to promote high achievement by providing high quality teaching and learning for everyone in our happy, healthy school community.
Our school values are embedded within our school motto of Newlands CARES -Challenge, Achieve, Respect, Encourage, Support. Our staff team work closely with our parents and wider community and value these strong partnerships as we continue to improve and provide our children with the very best possible learning experiences.

Announcements
The midterm reports have gone home last week. Please return them asap as they will support this weeks parent consultations. Thank you.
Next week will be the start of the Easter Holidays. We hope you all have a wonderful break with hopefully some warmer weather to come. The P7s will go on residential during the first week back. We hope they have an exciting and challenging time at Dalguise.
The teachers have put together a Digital Learning Parent Guidance Leaflet. It has gone home this week. A digital copy is also available from the resource page on this website.
Our specialist teachers have changed a little. PE days are on Tuesdays and Fridays. Music is on Wednesday. Please wear normal school uniform and the pupils will change in school. Those classes that have PE at the start of the day can come in PE clothes but need to bring their school uniform. P3/4/5 have PE first on Tuesdays and P6/7 on Friday. Just a reminder that all pupils need CLEAN trainers for PE days. Thank you.
