All the clay plaques and plates made by P3/4 and P 5/6 were set out to be admired and sold for a donation towards outdoor learning. Lots of parents came to buy back their home baking, and we made over £250 - so thankyou very much to everyone who contributed to our fun afternoon!
June 6th, P5 had a visit from Ellen McCann, a local sculptor. Ellen showed them how they can use patterns from nature to create a design and make a clay plate.

P5/6/7 Visit Stirling Castle
On February 7th we went to Stirling castle for the day. We had a great time being shown round the castle, and the education room where Aaron, Oban, Abbie and Aliya dressed up as people from the court. Our guide was a soldier who was very shouty!! He told us everything they did to keep the enemy out of the castle, and all the weapons they used. Before we left we visited the bed chamber where Mary Queen of Scots had stayed, and learnt why she never actually slept there!
January Expressive Arts
we have been making wall hangings by weaving different materials together on a hand made loom. We are very proud of our hard effort! We think they look fabulous!
Rehearsals for Cinderella!
P6/7 have been rehearsing very hard for the panto, and now it's only a week a way! Everyone more or less knows their lines, and we are busy sourcing outfits! So far we've only rehearsed in the classroom, so Thursday will be the first time we have to opportunity to get on the stage. Fingers crossed all goes well!
Talk For Writing
We are using Talk for Writing to help us learn how to write an explanation. This explanation is all about Why We Celebrate Bonfire Night!
Outdoor Maths!
We started the new term practising our multiplication and division. We used all the leaves in the playground to help us divide and find factors of numbers.
We had a very busy day on Wednesday 3rd October! We held a coffee afternoon with P4 for Macmillan Cancer Support. lots of parents and came, and all the other classes came to buy cakes.
Our class spent the morning baking muffins and decorating them!
We have been learning about measure, and did lots of different activities outside using metre sticks and trundle wheels.
We are enjoying helping Mrs Currie and Andy Hodgkiss in the polytunnel. We were getting things ready for the cottagers show.
Look at our drawings!
We have been drawing each other and trying to get a likeness. Some of us found it tricky! We used pencil crayons to shade carefully, and paid attention to the different colours in our hair.
