These documents reinforce what is coming home as a paper copy.
I would like the children to spend 2 weeks doing the ww2 home activity sheet. All other tasks in book/on line should be completed one task a day. If we are still off after the Easter holiday, take 2 weeks to complete WW2 activities. If you have completed all tasks , try to make an Anderson Shelter Write up how you made it and share on line. If not back in May our topic was The Human Body/Olympics. If you want to start this by naming body organs and functions. Choose a past Olympics and create a scrap book about it. More detailed plan to follow after Easter. |

WELCOME TO P 3/4
Mrs Adams,Mrs Bruce, Mrs Currie, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Davidson and Miss Watt work as a team to make learning creative and enjoyable. TERM ONE HIGHLIGHTS NEWLANDS CARES We started the term by doing an assembly on our school values. We did lots of drama sketches to show each of the values CHALLENGE ACHIEVES RESPECTS ENCOURAGES SECURE |
Our focus this term has been REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
We have looked at the importance of using our outdoor space to enhance our language and maths learning.
Michelle and Mrs Ho have allowed us woodland experiences of climbing, whittling and den building.
We all loved this learning style and will continue in shorter blocks after October.

, As well as caring for the environment , we have been caring for others. We recycled old toys and games and then set up little stalls at the event.we worked with the P5/6 class.
We held a MacMillan Coffee afternoon, where we sold our toys and raised nearly £400.
Lots of pictures can be seen on P5/6 page.
We love working with others and worked on maths games with P5/6.

havOctober to November 2019
This term we have been continuing our outdoor learning with Mrs Currie . We have been looking at food miles and how the food we eat is not always found on our doorstep. In maths we have been using a variety of different strategies to solve problems. |
As we have had Bonfire Night recently, we created silhouette pictures about this festival after a talk from fire fighters.
Our topic this term has been France and as a homework the children were asked to take an aspect of France that interested them and to create a shoe box version of this.
What an amazing array of things were created.
After sharing with each other we shared with P1/2.
Next week we will share with P5/6 and P6/7.
This will improve our skills are speaking clearly to others and sharing our learning.
A very handy skill as we soon will be performing our Christmas Show.
